Okara, Punjab: July 29, 2013. (PCP) On 27th Day of July 2013, a source called Mr. Khurram Akhtar (Research Officer, The Voice) telephonically and informed him about the incidence that occurred in Chak 8-4/L Okara, District, Okara. The Voice team comprised of Adv. Aneeqa Maria Akhtar, Mr. Shahid Anthony, Mr. Khurram Akhtar, Mr. Gohar Altaf and Mr. Napolean Qayyum went to the District Okara for fact finding.
When the Voice team reached there, we came to know that Ishaq Masih was the Land Lord of the area i.e. Chak 8-4/L and was well known in the Christian and Muslim Community. “He was very active in helping the Christians of the Village and never cared about his family or protection, Said Humaira the Niece of Ishaq Masih”.
Arshad Masih Son Of Ishaq Masih told the Voice, that on 27th July at about 7:00am my father Ishaq Masih came to know that one Muhammad Luqman Alias Ranjha have seized the land of Ishaq Masih lllegally, upon knowing this Ishaq Masih along with his Children named Arshad aged about 15 years and Siama aged about 12 years went to see whether the news is right or wrong. “When we reached the place Ranjha along with 8 people on Motor Bikes named (1). Sultan Alias Kala (2). Ramzan (3) Ashraf, (4) Ashiq Gill (5) Nadeem (6) Mushtaq and (7) Kali surrounded us”. Said Arshad, s/o Ishaq Masih. Few women of them named Nanhi, Bholi, Mithi and Raji were also there instigating the men to kill my father said, Siama d/o Ishaq Masih. They surrounded us and started beating my father. I and my brother cried for help but nobody was there to help us.
They were laughing and raising slogans that this bleady Christian have a lot of Land and he always interfere in our matters so now he is in our hands. We will teach him how to keep enmity with the Muslims. Then they opened fire of the (carbine) Tommy gun and it struck the heart of my father, my father felt on the ground and started to shudder. “I tried to give my father some water but Ranjha took that from me and slapped me”, Said Siama. Then they took my brother Arshad with them to the shed of the Cattle and started beating him, they insisted him to take the blame on him, that I have killed my father. But my brother did not say a word. He was scared and shocked. I ran to my mother and told her about the incidence that Ranjha along with his fellows have killed my father. My uncles and cousins rushed towards the land where they killed my father. Later they called police which came really late, and refused to file the report against the Culprits and they also refuse to do the postmortem of the body.
The Voice went at the place of Occurrence and contacted the police and the DPO (District Police officer), The Voice contacted the police to file the First Information Report against the culprits and conduct the Post mortem of the Deceased. The FIR was lodged against the 8 persons u/s 302, 365, 447, 511, 148/149 PPC. Than the police took the body to the hospital for postmortem. At about 12:00am in the night The Voice along with the family of the deceased took the body from the hospital and brought him to his house.
Actual Facts of the Case:
Ishaq Masih s/o Iqbal Masih owned 54 Acres of land, and he was also a Christian leader of the Village, he was trying to help his brothers and sisters in Christ who were in need or depressed due to the persecution by the hands of the Muslims/Majority. He was also supporting persecuted Christians of the Village in their dire circumstances. Many Muslim people joined hands with the land Mafia that was supported by the Mehar Abdul Sattar a well-known member of Pakistan People’s Party to grab the land of Ishaq Masih. The disputes about the properties were already going on between Ishaq Masih and Muhammad Luqman (Spokesman of Mehar Abdul Sattar). Muhammad Luqman Alias Ranjha threatened Ishaq many times to vacate the land or be ready for the consequences. Thus on 27th July they (Muslims) got a chance to execute their offensive strategies against Ishaq Masih when he was all alone with his minor children on his land.
I wish we could stop this violence against humanity, where humans are of no value. May God help us and give us courage to fight against injustice and save our brothers and sisters from persecution. Please pray for the family of the deceased so that may Lord give them peace.
