Joseph Helmy was an Egyptian Christian who joined the Egyptian military. Upon learning that he was a Christian, his fellow soldiers and army officers beat the new recruit to death according to a recent report:
Egyptian military officers beat a new soldier to death on July 19 upon learning that he was a Christian, relatives said.
Joseph Reda Helmy of Kafr Darwish village, Beni Sweif Province, had just completed initial army training and was transferred to the main unit, where three officers killed him, relatives told Egyptian media. The Egyptian army told relatives Helmy died of an epileptic seizure.
His father, Reda Helmy, told Al Karma TV by phone that his large, strong son had arrived at he camp at 2 p.m. and was dead by 8 p.m. In the same program, the deceased’s cousin, Youssef Zarif, said he received a message at 2 a.m. on July 20 from the Ministry of Interior to come and receive Helmy’s body.
When Zarif went to retrieve the body, he asked to meet an officer and was initially rebuffed. Eventually he met with an officer who told him that Helmy had died of an epileptic seizure. Zarif refused to believe the army explanation, saying Helmy was a healthy, quiet person loved by all in the village of Christians and Muslims.
He told Al Karma that the extensive bruising he found on the body did not look like those of an epileptic episode. He said Helmy had bruises on his head, shoulders, neck, back and genitalia, with the worst injuries occurring on his back.
The doctor who received the body refused to bow to pressure from those who brought it and reported that the cause of death was not natural, Zarif said. A prosecutor accompanying the family firmly concurred and demanded an investigation, he said.
Zarif said he thanked the doctor and prosecutor for not trying to cover up the truth.
The three officers who attacked his cousin are in custody and under investigation, he said. Zarif said he learned that the three officers began to harass Helmly because of Christian faith, and that the marks on his body indicate he was kicked him with their boots and hit with heavy instruments.
Another cousin, Malak Youakim, confirmed the killing to Alhorreya.TV. Youakim also said he was attacked for his Christian faith.
A Christian leader in Helmy’s home village said many there are in mourning.
“Many women are wearing black, a sign of mourning for the death of one of their Coptic youth,” he said. “Many are sharing the graphic pictures of the bruised body of Joseph Reda Helmy, a new draftee doing his military service.”
He said Helmy had been in the army for only month when he died on July 19. Several other Coptic Christians have died for their faith while serving in the Egyptian military. (source)
A Muslim suicide bomber went into one of the largest Christian neighborhoods in Pakistan and blew himself up, killing 26 people according to a recent report:
A Taliban suicide bomber in Pakistan killed at least 26 people, including nine police officers in the capital city of Lahore on Monday.
The attacker was part of a new Taliban faction known as the Taliban Special Group (TSG), which consists of well-trained suicide bombers. Reports say the attacker was targeting law enforcement, but FMI’s Bruce Allen says that’s not the whole story.
“What the mainstream media is not reporting is that this is the second-largest Christian colony in Pakistan where this blast occurred,” Allen says. “And while this Taliban Special Group claimed that it was targeting police, the fuller story is that they’re targeting police, or security, in Christian colonies.”
Allen says the most recent incident happened less than two miles from a gathering center for FMI-supported pastors,
“The incident took place about a mile-and-a-half from where FMI pastors in Pakistan meet on a monthly basis, where they receive their monthly financial support, where they get together for sharing prayer requests and have some ongoing training centers and things like that,” Allen says. “And they’re concerned because that’s the main and only road to get to the place where they need to monthly, and so they’re concerned about what happens for their next meeting and what sort of security would be available for them.”
Pakistan has faced numerous attacks over the past few months, including three separate bombings in late June that killed 83 civilians. Allen says the continual violence is taking a toll on believers.
“It just puts the Christians at this heightened state of alert, and they have been for some time,” Allen says. “We recall last Easter, a time of great celebration, and there’s an attack against Christians in the parks. And that’s what they live with constantly.”
FMI supports several pastors throughout Lahore and the surrounding vicinities. Allen says he often receives messages from them asking for prayer for an end to the violence.
“You have the pastors and church planters who are ministering to those people, and it’s very wearing on them because they want to encourage people to persevere in the midst of hardship, and yet the people are crying like the children of Israel in Egypt regarding their 400 years of slavery, ‘Lord, how much longer? When will we be delivered?’ (source)

Rescue Christians is a charity founded in 2006. The initial mission was two-fold: to educate the public concerning the threat of fundamentalist Islam and terrorism, and to expose government corruption concerning the infiltration of Islamists into our government. This work continues.
In 2009, after a case of false Blasphemy was referred to us from Pakistan we inquired with many organizations that touted themselves as helping the persecuted Christians. After extensive research we discovered to our disappointment that none of these organizations had any interest in actually saving people from their fate. We decided that despite our lack of expertise at that time, it was our duty as Christians and Jews under the command of the Lord to undertake our best efforts to try and save as many Christian (and Jews if necessary) people as possible both from slavery and persecution.
In 6 years we have saved or helped over 12,000 people. In the last three years we have saved over 10,000 slaves which includes providing them new jobs and new places to live, literally changing their lives from persecution and abject poverty to people with a living wage and children who can now go to school.
We have done this with a tiny budget compared to other charities. Our tiny charity has helped more slaves in three years than the combined efforts of other “slave freeing” charities have done in the last 15 years.
The slave problem is huge with about 30 million slaves worldwide of which over three million are Christians. We believe if we can raise the resources we can save most of the Christian slaves and inspire other non-Christian organizations to save their own brethren. We have already inspired the Hindu community to do the same as us in Pakistan.
We employ brave people who risk their own lives to save their brethren and with the financial resources our readers and supporters provide that allows us to do this holy work. On many occasions we have serious security issues to deal with but thanks to G-d all our staff so far have avoided death or serious injury.
Our primary focus is to rescue people, get them out of danger or slavery and to safety. We avoid getting involved in food programs and social services. This is not because we dislike these programs it is because they cost so much money and because of our limited resources we cannot afford to help hundreds of thousands of people a month providing food and shelter. If we move large amounts of people to safety we partner with other larger organizations that can provide these services.
Ideally we like our rescued victims especially in the slave program to be able to get employment and be self-sustaining once they are released. Our charity retains its own private employment agency so once we release the slaves we can get them employed immediately. However in some cases we will provide on a short-term basis individual families food and shelter until permanent status has been achieved, this is usually the case when we deal with individual cases of extreme persecution.
Even if you are not wealthy you can help. For $87 you can save one slave and pay this over 12 months that is only $7.25 a month. To save one family costs about $500 that is only $40 per month. To save 10 families a year is about $5000, which is $400 a month.

Muslim terrorists from Somalia have been carrying out deadly door-to-door raids in the countryside, now crossing over into Kenya search for Christians to kill. So far at least seven Christians have been murdered according to a recent report:
Somali-based terror group al-Shabaab killed seven Christians in a series of deadly raids in Kenya earlier this month where the Islamic radicals went door-to-door in villages looking for believers.
Persecution watchdog group International Christian Concern reported on Monday that seven Christians were among the victims in the raids carried out by al-Shabaab between July 5–8, when the militants attacked the villages of Pandanguo, Jima, and Poromoko.
Previous reports noted that the militants beheaded nine civilians in Jima in Lamu County in their hunt for non-Muslims, though more information is being released now about the victims.
ICC listed the names of the Christians killed: Said Mbigo, Matei Mlatia, Peter Mburu, Teresio Munyi, Mwangangi Muneni, Katana Karisa Chai, and Musyoka Maithya.
A local pastor said the radicals have been searching for Christians to kill.
“The attackers have been targeting Christians living in Lamu County, especially farmers in the interior areas where small-scale agriculture thrives,” said Pastor Henry Divayo, head of the church in Witu town.
“[The militants in Jima] were asking the villagers to produce their identification cards and if you were found to be a Christian you would be shot or slaughtered.”
“Victims have been evacuated to camps where food and security is provided by [the] government and the Kenya Red Cross,” Divayo added. “We are hosting more than 200 people in our church and we expect the number to increase as more families are evacuated from Boni Forest.”
The pastor urged the Kenyan government to provide more help in terms of equipping police to protect churches, schools and hospitals.
The slaughter earlier this month follows a number of other attacks al-Shabaab has carried out against Christians in Kenya in the past few years. The deadliest attack being the massacre at Garissa University in April 2015, where nearly 150 students, most of them Christians, were killed.
The U.S. military continues to carry out air strikes against al-Shabaab bases in Somalia, with Trump recently authorizing expanded operations in a bid to eradicate the terror group.
In response, the radicals have taken aim at the U.S. president in a newly released video, calling him a “brainless billionaire.”
SITE Intelligence Group reported on Sunday that the radicals accused U.S. voters of electing “arguably the most stupid president a country could ever have” in retaliation for escalating attacks on their terror compounds.
The terrorists further vowed to continue carrying out attacks in Kenya.
“Your military’s invasion of Somalia will continue to destabilize your country,” the militants stated, referring to Kenya’s military operations against al-Shabaab.
“When we do strike, your government will not be able to protect you.” (source)
Javed Masih was a poor Christian enslaved to a Muslim master over debt repayment. The Muslim had been harshly treating Javed, making him working long hours and difficult tasks with little breaks and under abusive condition. One day, after he accused him of stealing a motorcycle, he beat him with sticks and other objects so severely that he died from the torture according to a recent report”
A 32-year-old Christian has died as a result of injuries inflicted by his Muslim employer. The man’s name was Javed Masih and he lived in Kamalpur on Sargodha Road, Faisalabad district. He worked for Bilal Wahla to pay a debt of 350,000 rupees [about 2900 euros] contracted by his family.
Officially, he would have to sweep the musings of the Muslim, take care of the animals, milk the cows, and distribute the milk. In reality Javed was treated like a slave. Accused of stealing a biker’s motorcycle, the Christian was repeatedly beaten with sticks and other objects. He was taken to the hospital and died from serious torture.
Speaking to AsiaNews Imran Masih, Javed’s older brother, denounces: “We want justice. We are poor and therefore the police refuse to listen to us and record the complaint. Large landowners are threatening serious consequences because we have opposed any compromise. All this is because we are Christians and poor. ”
Javed Masih was one of six children (five males and females) of Irshad Masih and Naseem Bibi. In 2014, his parents contracted a debt with the Muslim owner. Upon his father’s death, the deal was signed with the wealthy landowner Wahla, alias Jutt: Javed worked for the Muslim and in return he would have 7,000 rupees deleted from the debt every month [equal to 57 euros, ed]. Under the agreement, Javed was required to work 24 hours a month. But in reality he was enslaved.
On June 20 some unknown criminals stole a motorcycle from Bilal Wahla’s private estate. The latter immediately blamed his employee, beginning to torture him cruelly and assigning new jobs to him. For his part, Javed rejected allegations of theft, but given the debt – he had no choice but to resist and continue working.
On July 18, after completing the daily assignments, Javed asked for an hour to leave to meet some friends. Returning after two hours, he found the furious master waiting for him, who struck him without any justification until he left the Christian bloody and broken. The next day, Javed was taken to the Allied Hospital in Faisalabad, where doctors pronounced him dead.
At that point the threats of the Muslim and other landowners began who tried to corrupt the family of the Christian to reach a compromise. Faced with their rejection of the Masih, Bilal Wahla tried to cover up the murder by stating that it was a case of suicide. Instead, Javed’s relatives filed a complaint at the Nishatabad police station. But to date, Imran Masih complains, the agents “have not yet accepted our statement. The police department must arrest and punish the culprit according to the law. We do not want any compromise. We want justice for our innocent brother. ” (source)
